At 19, Ananya Pandey, daughter of Bollwood actor, Chunkey Pandey, has become the youngest brand ambassador of Lakmé, said to be India’s biggest name in cosmetic products. Ananya has been signed as the brand endorser for Lakme’s range of lip care products.
A social media style icon
Even though her first film, Student Of The Year 2, is yet to be released, Ananya is an immensely popular figure on the social media, mainly because of her style quotient and her online interactivity with her fans and followers. Her fashion sense has also made her popular among the Page 3 media. On Instagram, Ananya consistently keeps on sharing pictures from her day to day life – an activity that has further added to her popularity. She counts Suhana Khan, Bollywood icon Shahrukh Khan’s daughter; and Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor, among her best friends. She has posted lots of pictures of the trio on social media. She regularly posts pictures with Shanaya with captions like “From cradle to grave” and has consistently posted pictures from their childhood.
Lakmé apparently signed her as their brand ambassador to capitalize on her fan following and popularity.
Lakmé has a long history of associations with Bollywood celebrities. In September, Kareena Kapoor Khan, whose relationship with Lakme goes back a long way, launched her signature line of makeup products with Lakmé, aptly named Kareena Kapoor Khan by Lakmé Absolute. Some of the brand ambassadors recently signed by Lakme, are Shraddha Kapoor and Isabelle Kaif.
In 2017, Ananya graduated from the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. With the world of entertainment in her mind, she has been undergoing training in both dancing and acting. Student Of The Year 2 is being made by Karan Johar, who is among the most popular contemporary filmmakers in Bollywood. Student Of The Year 2 stars Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey in the lead roles, and is scheduled to be release on May 10, 2019.Johar directed some of the biggest blockbusters of recent times, such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and My Name Is Khan.

The Lakmé cosmetics brand is owned by Hindustan Unilever, India’s leading FMCG company. It was ranked 104th among India’s most trusted brands, in the Brand Trust Report 2012. In 2013, it was ranked 71st among India’s most trusted brands. In 2014, Lakmé was ranked 36th among India’s most trusted brands, as per the Brand Trust Report. The brand organizes what it claims to be India’s biggest fashion event, Lakmé Fashion Week. This is a bi-annual fashion event that takes place in Mumbai in April and August every year.
Lakmé was the country’s first cosmetic brand and was founded over five decades ago. It is a complete beauty brand spanning color cosmetics and skin care and extending to beauty services through the network of Lakmé Beauty Salons.
Ananya’s father Chunky’ Pandey was a popular Bollwood actor in the 1980s and 1990s, during which he appeared in more than 800 films.
